Grand Rapids Truck/Car Accident Causes Serious Injuries

There was a story in the news today about two people seriously injured in a Grand Rapids auto accident. The accident took place on Wednesday, May 12th after 11 p.m. According to the police, the collision took place near Michigan and Grand Streets between a pickup truck and a minivan. The driver of the van suffered serious injuries that included several broken bones and internal injuries. Her two passengers also suffered injuries, one of them being a 5-year-old child. The drive of the pickup truck did not suffer serious injuries.

I am very sorry to hear about the accident and hope they all recover from this accident without any permanent damages.

Our Grand Rapids car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of Michigan car accident, the car accident victim could make a claim for Michigan no-fault benefits even if they did not own a car or have a no-fault benefit insurance policy. This includes payment of medical expenses, prescription costs, and wage and income loss benefits if there are any.

Additionally, depending on who is determined at-fault, the injured victims, including the parents of the injured child, can also make a claim for personal injuries against the negligent driver. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement.
