Lower Michigan Pickup Truck/Horse & Buggy Accident

There was a tragic story in the paper yesterday about a Grand Rapids pickup truck accident involving a horse and buggy. The accident took place on Tuesday, July 20th, around 7:15 p.m.  in Wexford County’s Colfax Township.  According to police, a pickup truck driving along East 16 1/2 Road hit a horse and cart killing one of the two cart’s passengers. The other passenger in the cart suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital.

I am very sorry to hear about this accident and my deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim.

For this type of Michigan pickup truck accident, the family members of the deceased teen may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. Also, the family members of the deceased may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver that police determine was negligent and caused the accident.

The injured passenger of the horse and buggy can submit a claim for Michigan No-Fault insurance benefits.
