Fatal Muskegon Pedestrian Hit And Run Accident

There was a story on the news today about a man killed in a fatal Muskegon pedestrian hit and run accident on December 13 in Dalton Township. According to the Muskegon County Sheriff’s office, a 40-year-old Eagleston Township man was walking eastbound on Tyler Road when he was allegedly struck by a car heading the same way. The pedestrian was killed on the scene. The driver left the scene of accident but later turned himself in. Police are still investigating this accident.

I am very sorry to hear about this tragic accident and offer the family of the deceased pedestrian my most sincere condolences and best wishes.

Our Michigan car accident lawyers advise accident victims of their legal rights. For this type of auto accident in Michigan, the family members of the deceased pedestrian may be able to make a claim for Survivor Loss Benefits. This can include payment of funeral expenses, lost wages, and loss of other services.

In addition, the injury victims may be able to file a lawsuit against the persons determined to be at fault in auto accident. The insurance company for the driver must still cover any injuries. In this lawsuit, the family of the deceased victim can claim damages and compensation for the injuries suffered in the accident. The insurance company for the negligent driver typically pays a settlement for this type of case.

Also, the family members of the deceased pedestrian may have a claim for a Michigan wrongful death lawsuit against the driver that police determine was negligent and caused this accident. At the very least, the surviving family should hire the best possible lawyer to look into these possibilities.

An experienced Michigan car accident lawyer can assist the victim with this type of claim. Accident victims should not speak with the insurance adjuster for the negligent driver before consulting with an attorney.

Truck Accident Lawsuit Filed

Our Michigan truck accident lawyers just filed a serious truck accident accident lawsuit arising out of a West Michigan truck accident.  The accident happened in Muskegon County at the intersection of  Apple Road and Newaygo Road.  The suit alleges that the truck driver was negligent and crashed into our client’s passenger vehicle.  Our client suffered serious orthopedic injuries, a head injury, and other painful and major injuries.

Truck accidents typically lead to serious and even catastrophic injuries.  Simply put, an occupant of a passenger vehicle has little chance of escaping injury when involved in a collision with an 18 wheeler or semi-truck.  The injury victim in a Michigan truck accident can receive Michigan No-Fault Insurance Benefits and can also seek personal injury damages from the trucking company if it can be proven that the truck driver was negligent and at fault for the accident.
